No foolin… today is the first day of the Spring Blog Challenge. Are you ready to write?
With all the changes constantly happening in social media (Pinterest, new Facebook timelines, etc…) it is more important than ever to concentrate on the things you can control… like your blog. Plus, regular blogging allows you to create content that can be recycled and re-used many times over.
So, why aren’t your blogging more? Does it seem like you don’t have time to write every day?
Or, maybe you are blogging – but you aren’t getting any response (there is nothing worse than feeling you are talking to yourself.)?
Well, I have good news for you. The Ultimate Blog Challenge is here to help you create a habit of sharing great content with your audience — and through the power of social media – expose your blog to hundreds of new readers. We even have some teleseminars and webinars and helpful prompts to get you started writing.
Here are some quick hints on how to make the most of the blog challenge.
1. You don’t need to create all of the content you post on your blog. If you see an interesting video or a thoughtful blog post — share it. (See my 10 minute blog post post for more information on how to do that). To make this not cheating – you need to add 100 words or so at the top explaining to your audience why you thought the post was relevant.
2. Create a plan. One of the easiest ways to increase your blogging frequency is to create an editorial calendar. For example, on Mondays post about marketing, on Wednesday, share videos, maybe cap off the week with a summary of posts you’ve seen and liked from other participants on Fridays. Get out a spreadsheet and plan out your month. You can be flexible – but at least you’ll have a plan.
3. Collaborate. A few times a week – go to Twitter and search for #blogboost. Those are tweets from other Blog Challenge participants. Re-tweet them. Go to the posts and leave comments. The more you interact – the better connections you’ll make.
Leave me a comment and let me know your favorite blogging strategies.
So, are you signed up for the Blog Challenge yet? What are you hoping to get from the challenge? Please leave a comment and let us know… (feel free to leave a link to your blog so we can check it out).
