Taking on that first coaching client can seem like it is never going to happen when you're getting set up. Before you were ready to start taking clients, you probably put in a ton of effort. You developed products, launched your website, and determined how you want to start meeting with leads. Maybe you’ve also pursued teleseminars or media opportunities.
The next step is to actually convert those leads into clients because that’s how you start to bring in money. Without the final step in the process, you’re going to spend a ton of time and effort without getting a lot in return.
So let's talk about some tips to help you land that first coaching client.
Blog, blog, and blog some more
Blogging is one of the most efficient ways to boost your web traffic. It's very inexpensive and has a pretty quick impact since you can post frequently. Of course, you have to be sure that you're speaking to your target market. And be real! When you're authentic, it shows and that will resonate more with your target audience.
Participate in Social Media
Notice I said participate! So many people take the time to post but they don't participate and interact. If you're not joining conversations or responding to comments on your own posts, your social media won't have as much impact. It isn't just posting that gets you a reaction. It's the interaction you have with people in your communities that will really help you attract leads and eventually convert them.
Follow-up and segment
The first step here is to make sure you're following up multiple times. If you're opt-in doesn't include several follow-up messages then you're not utilizing those leads to the fullest. Make sure that you have the follow-up in place from day one and that you are reviewing it as time goes by for effectiveness. As you develop more products, add segmenting to the process so you can tailor your content to your various client profiles.
Once you get that first client, be sure to over deliver in every way. A satisfied customer will be your best asset at increasing your customer base. Referrals are a great source of new clients and even repeat clients but you aren’t going to get them without excellent service. Because, at the end of the day, helping your ideal clients get results is what it’s all about.
