Have you ever heard other business owners saying that they are doing everything they can to get new leads but it just isn't enough.
Maybe they are getting tons of leads but they are not able to convert them into paying clients/customers.
There is actually something that each and every business owner can do that will help them with this process. It is to build your leading authority or expert status.
What is the easiest way to build your leading authority status?
Write a book. I can't believe it has been 6 months since I wrote my first book – “Makeover Your Business in 6 Weeks or Less – Proven Techniques for the Entrepreneurial Woman”. I have to admit I was not exactly sure how to write a book. But every year I kept saying that it was going to be the year I did it – I just never got around to it.
Then I met Donna Kozik. Donna is the brains behind the “Write a Book in a Weekend” program. Here is a short video from Donna explaining why you should consider writing a book of your own.
I really love what she has to say about your book being the “universal symbol or authority”. Think about this. If you want to learn to cook are you more likely to go take lessons from someone who has written a book about cooking or someone who has not.
Donna really promotes the idea of writing a “short and powerful book” meaning that it is not a novel but it still contains powerful information.
You might be thinking that you don't know what you would write about or when you would write it. Do yourself a favor and check out Donna's Write a Book in a Weekend program. I wrote my entire book in 2 days – I couldn't believe how easy it was. For more information go to: http://bit.ly/DonnaK
Oh, how I envy you, Michele!
Writing a book has been on my “dream come true” list … forever.
I’m so happy you’re recommending Donna Kozik. Her program is definitely one of a kind. And there’s no question about it …
Becoming a published author and having that book in hand builds expert status faster than anything else!
Melanie
Hey Melanie – You should check out Donnas system. There is something about having someone hold you responsible during that weekend. It is kind of like how much we accomplished during the blog challenge because we knew everyone was watching. You can definitely do it – you probably have enough blog posts already to make a great book.
Thanks, Michele
The big business card! Love it.
I two books in the process. The ability to get them done in 2 days would be huge! Thanks for the info on Donna.
You are very welcome Sheila! It’s just one of those things we have to get done. I can’t tell you how much it has helped me to get people to notice me. Thanks for commenting, Michele
Thanks for that vote of confidence, Michele.
And I think Donna Kozik makes a really good point in her video — all we really need is a “short and powerful” book. We don’t need to have a novel the size of War and Peace! 🙂
Melanie
Wow, Michele — thanks for the props!
Of course, the REAL credit goes to you and all the other authors from “Write a Book in a Weekend.” You made the DECISION and took ACTION to make your dream come true.
That’s what it’s all about!
I’m happy you and your book are such a success — I point to you as a “star student” all the time!
See you in the bookstore! 😉
Thanks Donna – I think what you do for others is amazing. You help people make their dreams come true! That is exciting and I am so honored to be one of your “star students”. Thanks, Michele
Hi Michelle-
I love Donna Kozik, she is an inspiration and hope for all of us who have complications with writing. You both are role models for me with the possibility of writing a book in a weekend. I took Donna’s course back in January. This weekend. Cross your fingers everyone. I am making another attempt at it. Got to get that book published by the fall.
Thank you for this blog article.

Hi Robin, Thanks for your comment. Writing a book a short and powerful book is so much easier than people think. Do yourself a favor and just get it done. Thanks, Michele
