Why Attend Live EventsHave you been working on your business for a LONG time, yet nothing is budging?  Your income is stagnant, your client roster is holding steady but not increasing.  You are following the steps your coach gave you but not seeing the results you want?

You read about people who went from 0 to $100,000 in some very short period of time (like I did).  Wonder what the secret really is?

Do you want to know what the rocket fuel is to big success?

The secret to getting to the big leagues fast is…

Getting out of your house and meeting people who can help you in your business.  For most of my clients, that means attending networking luncheons and multi-day events.  Looking at the people who have made great strides quickly, I can say that 90% of them are regular event attendees.  When you attend events, you create relationships on a different level. You meet people face to face and can make connections that will benefit both sides in the near future.

As a  matter of fact, I don’t know anyone who has succeeded in building their online business all by themselves.

Here are the three reasons I attend live events:

1.  Events are a great place to meet your next clients! I have met 75% of my top tier coaching clients at live events. Which events would your ideal clients be at? Are they business owners so they might be at a marketing conference or at an industry related conference? Are they stay at home moms so they might be at your local women’s conference?

2.  Events are the quickest way to get new ideas that can be implemented immediately!  I attend on average 6 multi-day events per year and I often attend the same events over and over again. Why would I attend multiple times? Because every time I attend I get new ideas. Because my business is further along I hear the training with different ears and I am ready to implement different strategies than I was the year before. These ideas come from not only the speakers, but also from a conversation at lunch or during break time.

3.  Events are a great way to position yourself as an expert in your field!  I often do this by being a speaker or sponsor at the event. I have mastered getting new clients from these sponsorships. If you don’t think you are ready to sponsor or speak then you can show your expertise by making sure you go to the microphone when the host ask for shares or questions. You can also make a point to meet 10 new people while you are at the event.

So why aren’t you going to more in person multi-day events?

For most people, the issue is money!

In a real business we make decisions based on return on investment. How much is it going to cost you to attend the event? How much is one new client worth? If you were to meet one or two new clients at the event would that make it worth it? What if you found that great team member you have been looking for? What would that be worth to your business?

Now it’s your turn. There are lots of great events happening every month. I host many educational events each year for small business owners. I do them in multiple formats as well so that small business owners can find what works for them – free online trainings, 1 day virtual trainings, small group intensives or Decide, Act, Profit, my annual 3 day event. See you in the big leagues 🙂
